INJURY HIT BRITAIN BEATEN Karen Mulder

An injury-ravaged Great Britain women's side lost 5-0 to Holland in the final of a four nations tournament in Rotterdam.

The two teams met yesterday in a dead rubber when GB were 3-2 victors but it was a different story 24 hours later.

In only the sixth minute Leicester's Anne Panter was sin-binned and during that spell Maartje Pauman scored a penalty corner.

Olton's Rachel Walker then departed with a broken nose and Kate Walsh was injured defending a 22nd-minute short corner which allowed Pauman to score from the resulting penalty stroke.

Two minutes after half-time Kelly Jonker made it 3-0, Eefke Mulder added a fourth before Pauman completed her hat-trick from another penalty corner.

"The scoreline properly reflected the balance of play but if you had told us before the tournament that we would play the Netherlands twice and win one and lose one we would probably have taken that," said assistant coach Karen Brown.

"It is all part of a steep learning curve and shows we've still got some way to go to achieve our goals."
